The MEI companies have been recognized for both hotel management and development successes. In 2003, MEI Development Company was awarded the Hilton Garden Inn Developer of the Year award by Hilton Hotels for the simultaneous construction and successful opening of Hilton Garden Inns in Fairfax, VA; Boca Raton, FL; and Miramar, FL.
Under the management of MEI Hotels Incorporated, these hotels regularly achieve the goal of Guest Loyalty performance within the top 20% of their brands. The Hilton Garden Inn Fairfax consistently achieves guest survey scores within the top 2%, earning General Manager Steve Steinberg the Hilton Garden Inn GM of the Year award in 2007 and the Highest Problem Resolution Score award in 2008, as well as a top 1% guest reviews award from Expedia.
Other achievements by MEI’s portfolio include the Hilton Garden Inn Boca Raton’s achievement of Green Zone scores across all performance measures in 2008 under the leadership of Patricia Martinez, along with the Hilton Garden Inn Fairfax. This accomplishment was achieved by less than 2% of Garden Inn hotels, with MEI being the only management company to have two hotels achieve it.
Melissa Whitcomb, who has led the Homewood Suites Troy, MI since its opening, celebrated a Highest Overall Cleanliness award in 2003 (top 10 hotels), a General Manager of the Year Award of Merit in 2004 (top 10 hotels), and both a Pride Award of Merit (top 10 hotels) and an Extended Stay Most Improved Award (top 10 hotels) in 2007. Such successes have earned the companies partnerships with leading financial institutions as well as the loyalty of their base of high net worth investors.
